0 votes 0 votes There were $2$ friends who started buying $14$ eggs at $\text{Rs.3 per egg}$ daily from september. Both will eat $4$ boiled eggs daily and store the remaining eggs keeping in mind the price hike during winter. One odd day due to some emergency one of the friend had to go out. He returned after $5$ days and during these days no extra egg was bought, but his friend continued the routine of consuming $4$ boiled eggs. Both of them were bad at maths and had different reasoning for the settlement. Friend A : While you were not here I ate $20$ eggs from the store. For these $20$ stocked eggs you contributed $\text{Rs.30}$ as your share. So I will give you $\text{Rs.30}$ Friend B : You ate $20$ extra eggs so I am taking $20$ eggs from the store now or give me $\text{Rs.60}$ Friend A is correct Friend B is correct Both are correct None is correct shreyansh jain asked Oct 13, 2018 • edited Jun 20, 2022 by Anjana5051 shreyansh jain 14 points 1.2k views answer comment Share See all 0 reply Please log in or register to add a comment.
1 votes 1 votes Friend A is Correct Both were eating 4 eggs individually everyday. In 5 days A ate 20 eggs from the store whose cost is Rs 60 in which both have contributed 30 - 30 each.So A should Rs 30 which is B's contribution and A's reasoning. A should not return whole cost of the eggs (which is Rs 60) because both the friends have contributed equally in buying the eggs. Also A didn't ate any extra eggs. Anyhow whether B is there or not A have to eat 4 eggs for a day.So, B's reasoning is wrong. 1 votes 1 votes Friend A is correct. When the candidate ‘b’went out 5 days.A ate 5*4=20 eggs.(4 eggs per day) from their store without buying eggs. which means he ate 10 eggs his own and remaining ten eggs ‘b’s so,10*3=30rs/- only. lakshmi yalla answered Nov 24, 2018 lakshmi yalla 54 points comment Share See all 0 reply Please log in or register to add a comment.
