Two trains starting at the same time from two stations 200 km apart, and going in opposite directions cross each other at a distance of 110 km from one of the stations. What is the ratio of their speeds . Explain with proper steps.

Answer : 11:9

When one train travelled 110 km, other train travelled 90 km. So, $$\frac{110}{x} = \frac{90}{y} \implies \frac{x}{y} = \frac{11}{9}.$$

PS: the ratio could be the inverse also.
